Cable Connections recently received certification for their ISO 9001:2015 compliance. To achieve this recognition, Cable Connections adhered to the International Organization for Standardization’s most stringent standards of quality control consistently for years.
ISO 9000 is a group of standards for quality management systems maintained by the International Organization for Standardization. They help to ensure that manufacturers produce consistently high quality products with minimal failure and that where malfunction in process is perceived, a correction is made. ISO 9001:2000 combined the 9001, 9002 and 9003 standards, and the 2008 updated version only introduced clarifications to existing requirements – no new requirements were added. With ISO 9001:2015, major conversion changes did occur. ISO 9001:2015 is a RISK/Opportunity based approached by recognizing challenges of risk/opportunities any company might encounter with ALL employees taking an ownership position with the understanding of being a part of the companies QMS system.
Some of the requirements to achieve ISO 9001:2015 certification include the implementation of a set of strict procedures that cover all key processes in the business, gauging processes’ effectiveness, maintaining meticulous, accurate records, identifying defects, executing corrective actions and facilitating continuous developmental improvement. ALL employees must be well versed in their responsibilities of knowing exactly what the QMS entails.
After being audited and certified in conformance with ISO 9001:2015 by the appropriate ruling bodies, manufacturers are able to make publicly known they are ISO 9001 registered. To receive the certification is a great challenge and honor with so many people involved in the process to ensure the best quality product possible for our customers.
